Fire Demonstration Table
Every year bushfires can cost tens of millions of dollars in damage to property and precious land, claim livestock and in the worst case scenario, human lives. In Australia’s harsh and unpredictable climate, preparation, knowledge and awareness are our best defence against this ever present threat.
This is why Quik Corp Fire Engineering developed the Fire Demonstration Table: quite simply the most practical way to educate fire fighters in real world fire conditions in a safe controlled environment.
The Fire Demonstration Table is designed to demonstrate the behaviour of a wild fire under various environmental and geographical conditions. The table can be configured to simulate various terrain: for example flats, gullies, steep inclines and valleys. Once the desired configuration has been chosen, it is covered with hessian and various types of fuels are added and ignited. The hessian burns realistically and replicates a real life situation.
In many cases miniature houses and sheds are added, roads created with soil and gravel, and forests can be created using twigs and leaves native to the area.
As a result, the Fire Demonstration Table provides a step-by-step insight into how to concentrate and manage the physical, organisational and human resources to handle the fire adequately, which ultimately serves to improve decision making under stress.
Whether you are training fire fighters or using the table for public demonstration purposes, the table is a unique tool that is safe and effective.
